DRF Tournaments Launches $1 Million World Championship of Handicapping
NEW YORK (April 25, 2017) – Daily Racing Form is excited to announce the $1 million World Championship of Handicapping, with the first feeder beginning Friday, April 28.

The new online-only Championship boasts the largest year-end prize pool of $1million based on a maximum of 200 players and an unprecedented 0 percent takeout final. Horseplayers will have the opportunity to win a berth by qualifying with feeders as low at $10 and through various price-point qualifiers. Players also can buy directly into the finals for $5,000.

“DRF’s innovative 2017 Tournament is designed by players for players,” said John Hartig, Chairman and CEO of Daily Racing Form. “Our promise to the horseplayer is simple – curate the best quality races, serve up the biggest online cash prizes, and provide today’s player with DRF’s best coverage and premier handicapping tools in order to play with confidence on the most innovative mobile-enabled platform wherever they are.”

The mythical money, all mandatory two-day online Championship event is scheduled to take place January 27-28, which is Pegasus World Cup Invitational weekend.

There are no membership fees to participate, with special perks such as free DRF past performances, free-roll feeders and additional DRF product discounts. The qualifier ratio will be 1:10 and 1:26 – the lowest ratio in U.S. tournaments, giving players a better chance to qualify. There are no state restrictions to join or play, although players need to be 18 or older to participate and in some states, such as Nevada, players must be 21.

“DRF has listened closely to tournament players about their needs, wants, and desires, and we’re confident that DRF’s innovative new Championship will exceed players’ expectations,” Hartig said.
