Wellington, FL (January 9, 2017) — Eighteen talented young riders and seven participating auditors eagerly arrived in Wellington, Florida, from all parts of the United States to participate in the sixth annual Robert Dover HorseMastership Clinic, presented by Lendon Gray’s Dressage4Kids and its Emerging Dressage Athlete Program. Participants for the clinic, held on December 26-30, 2016, were selected from top competitions such as the North American Junior/Young Rider Championships and from the Emerging Dressage Athlete Program Clinics. The clinic’s annual goal is to identify and train promising young dressage stars and move them toward international success.
After a grueling week where all aspects of dressage riding and horse care were taught, and after dazzling lessons from top U.S. riders Dover, Michael Barisone, Debbie McDonald, George Williams, and Allison Brock, everyone headed to a spectacular party open to all the participants and their families, trainers, and others involved (about 200 people all together), hosted by Diamante Farms.
Diamante Farms in Wellington, Florida is the home base of U.S. Dressage Federation Gold medalist and Grand Prix rider and trainer Devon Kane and German international rider and trainer, master bereiter, and German gold medalist Kevin Kohmann. Devon Kane and her mother, Terri Kane, are dedicated supporters of the sport of dressage. The duo maintains a world-class dressage facility, which has been designated as a USEF Elite Training Center. They hosted the Robert Dover HorseMastership Clinic party last year, as well, and were happy to host once again to celebrate the hard work of all the clinic riders, instructors, and volunteers by bringing them together for a bit of fun.
The Diamante Farms team transformed their stately covered riding arena into a party venue by laying a dance floor over the footing, and making the venue sparkling with lights. Guests found dancing and a sumptuous paella feast for their enjoyment, and a DJ collaborated with live musicians to set the mood – including a trumpet player who strolled the floor serenading delighted diners.
The Robert Dover HorseMastership Clinic is especially important to the Kanes, who love supporting young dressage riders as they work their way up the ladder of success. “It is very important to our family and our facility to back the youth dressage programs,” explained Devon Kane, trainer at Diamante Farms. “We enjoy welcoming the coaches and the kids to our facility.”
“It’s important to us to show our support for the up-and-coming athletes in our sport,” added Terri Kane. “That’s why Devon and I love to help.”
As a USEF Elite Training Center, Diamante Farms continues to enrich the community and provide opportunities for top-quality dressage training, coaching, clinics, boarding, and sales. Diamante Farms will next be returning as a sponsor of the Adequan Global Dressage Festival in Wellington from January 11 – March 25, 2017.
