KELSEY FARM

Happiness & Horsemanship Since 1949

Home & Programs: Welcome

LESSONS

Since 1949, Kelsey Farm has been teaching young people to ride. Rooted in a long family tradition of horsemanship, sportsmanship and skill, our commitment is that riders be safe, have fun and ride well. Kelsey Farm is hands on! Students groom, tack up, learn horsemanship and develop a connection with their horses. Our students benefit from year-round professional trainers, a small teacher/student ratio and show quality ponies and horses.

We offer private, semi-private and group lessons to children ages six and up. We also have a limited number of spots for adults of all levels. Contact us to arrange an assessment lesson and discuss your scheduling needs. Please note that for Covid-19 safety reasons, our lesson availability is limited. Let us know your needs and we will do our best!

SHARE-BOARD

As students progress, many want to ride more. We designed a share-board program for the feel of ownership without the full-time commitment. Students are carefully matched by size and skill to an appropriate horse or pony. Their mount may change depending on the rider's development. Share-boarding includes two lessons and one supervised “free ride” per week*, plus the option to compete at seasonal horse shows. If appropriate, cross country, hunter paces and off-campus clinics are also available.

SHOWING

We are year-round regulars on the regional show circuit and love to compete. Veteran competitors and trainers Ron Esposito and Valerie Baez guide our students at the regional A and B shows, CHJA and PHA finals. Share-board and full-board clients compete in short-stirrup through the higher-level hunters, jumpers and equitation.
