Tim and Heather have been avid trail riders and campers their entire lives, they have camped all over Tennessee and North Carolina hitting the trails whenever they get a chance. They both were trail guides in the Smoky Mountains for over 10 years and truly enjoy and appreciate the hard work and dedication it takes to build and create a good trustworthy trail horse.

 True West is THE premiere campground of Big South Fork. Our legendary customer service is known far and wide. On top of that, we are adjacent to one of the best kept secrets of the southeast, Big South Fork National River and Recreational, offering the best trail riding in Tennessee!  Whether you are into Hiking, Biking, River Riding, Trail Riding, Rock Climbing or star gazing, you'll find it in Big South Fork. There are also nearby ATV trails available in Pickett State Park and Black House. Motorcycle touring groups also find the area a great place to ride. And we're right in the middle of it all! You won't find better Hospitality and HORSEpitality® anywhere in the country!

RV PARK & HORSE CAMP AMENITIES

 

True West is centrally located by Big South Fork with easy access to a great many outdoor adventures. Our facilities include 34 easy access, level RV and camping sites, all with water and electric, some with sewer hookups. Our shower houses are very clean and provide plenty of hot water! We have two stocked fishing ponds that you can fish in - no license required. Our mercantile is stocked with gifts, home decor, yard decor, camping supplies, horse tack, snacks, maps, and Western wear. We have soft serve ice cream in the store during the summer, as well as an ATM. Ice and firewood are also available.  We carry TOTAL FEED and Hay.

We also have a Propane Refill Station!!

All campers have access to our large enclosed and covered deck for gathering or attending one of our many events. For those who use it, there is WIFI throughout the campground !! Since we have wifi, you can also use wifi calling for your phone calls. 

Don't have a Camper or Living Quarters? We've got you covered! We have lodging available to rent. Many different options to choose from. There is the Marshal Suite, located above the Mercantile in the main building and the tucked-in-the-woods Miner's Shack Cabin. We also offer the unique experience of sleeping in covered wagons but with some creature comforts of home (Beds, and wagons have AC and Heat!!). Love to tent? No worries!! We have plenty of space for you to set your tent up!

If you are in need of horse facilities, we have two large barns with a total of 67 stalls, each with 2 bucket hooks for your water and feed, a saddle rack and a bridle hook. We also have two large wash bays so you can give your horse a good bath after a long ride, and a large 60' round pen. 

True West also offers parking and the use of the common area to those just passing through for the day and needing access to the trails. We are only a 1 mile trail ride to the Cumberland Valley Trail Head in Big South Fork National Park.
