Welcome to Wessex Equine Veterinary Practice. We are a dedicated equine veterinary practice, offering a full range of mobile veterinary services, along with specialist support, to horse owners in and across Wiltshire, South Gloucestershire and the surrounding area.

Our team of experienced equine veterinary surgeons including RCVS certificate holders in orthopaedics, lameness and stud medicine, can provide all aspects of ambulatory veterinary care for your horse and have access to the latest portable equipment, such as x-ray, ultrasound and endoscope, which means that most procedures can be carried out at your yard.

About us

Our friendly office & reception team is based in Hilmarton, Wiltshire. We are open Monday to Friday and provide 24/7 emergency veterinary care. Our out-of-hours emergency line is answered by a team of qualified veterinary nurses who are best placed to take your call, understand your emergency and get a vet to you as soon as possible.

Our services

At Wessex Equine, all of our veterinary surgeons are dedicated to delivering excellent first opinion care to your animals, whether that be competition horses, racehorses, happy hackers or children’s ponies, we are here to provide a comprehensive range of services

Emergency services

If you have an emergency outside of our normal opening hours, please call the practice. You will be diverted to our out of hours team who, as qualified veterinary nurses are better placed to help understand your emergency and provide any advice whilst you are waiting for the vet.
