New ECRDA Year End Awards for 2024:
All Breeds Awards. This will include, but not limited to:
Appaloosa
Draft/Draft Cross
Fresians
Fjords
Haflingers
Missouri Fox Trot
Morgan
Mustang
Paint
Quarter Horse
Standardbred

Criteria: The highest median score (one score above 55% at the highest test of the level); and the rider must be a member in good standing with ECRDA. Levels offered: Intro. Walk-Trot, Intro. Walk-Trot-Canter; Training through 4th level If any breeds are being shown that are being shown in ECRDA, but are not listed, please contact Melissa Tomasello at 609-457-7901

Rule Change: In accordance with USEF rules: Horses competing at 4th level and below may enter a maximum of 3 classes per day. Horses competing at the FEI level can enter a maximum of 2 classes per day.

Come and join ECRDA in the Fun and Celebration of the 2021 Show Season.

RULES FOR 2024:

  1. The Show Season is Nov. 15, 2023 through Nov. 14, 2024.

  2. To qualify for a Year End High Score Award, Horse-Rider combinations must have at least 3 scores, from 3 different judges, from 3 different show dates. The MEDIAN of these 3 scores will be used to rank the Horse-Rider combinations at each level. A Prerequisite of 1 score of 55% or higher from the highest test of the level must be obtained.

  3. The exception will be for FEI riders, who will need 2 scores from 2 different judges at 2 different shows. The AVERAGE of the scores will be used to rank Horse-Rider combinations.

  4. The Starter Rider Walk-Trot Junior and Starter Rider Walk-Trot-Canter Junior divisions will be divided into Juniors 12 and under in age; and those juniors 13 years of age and older.

  5. For scores to count towards ECRDA Year End Awards, riders must be ECRDA members in good standing at the time of showing

  6. By popular request, there will be a new division offered for year end awards: Musical Freestyle Walk Trot and Musical Freestyle Walk Trot Canter.

A MUCH ANTICIPATED RULE CHANGE !
New for the 2020 Show Season:
Dressage Association (r) , (R), and (S) judges will be able to judge all levels at any East Coast Regional sanctioned show.
Moreover, starting with this 2020 show season, in East Coast Regional Dressage Association, (L) graduates with 5 years of judging experience at schooling shows will also be permitted to judge all levels, to include FEI, at ECRDA sanctioned shows.

Just a reminder, you only need one score of 55% or higher from the highest test at that level as a part of the prerequisites for a Year End Award. Please read the rule book for the other requirements.

ECRDA is offering more medals and awards to honor your hard achievements:

For the Bronze Medal you need 6 scores of 60% or above at any Training Level test. They must be from 3 different judges at 3 different shows.

 For the Silver Medal you need 6 scores of 60% or above at First and Second Levels. These must be 3 scores from any First Level Test and 3 scores from any Second Level Test. These must be from a minimum of 3 different judges at 3 different shows.

 For the Gold Medal you need 6 scores of 60% or above at Third and Fourth Levels. These must be 3 scores from any Third Level Test and 3 scores from any Fourth Level Test. These must be from a minimum of 3 different judges at 3 different shows.

Two scores of 58% or better at Prix St. George under two different judges will earn the new Platinum Award!

Two scores of 58% or better at  at any Intermediate Test under two different judges will earn the new Platinum Plus Award!

 Two scores of 58% or better at Grand Prix under two different judges will earn the new Diamond Award

ECRDA IS NOW INCLUDING WESTERN DRESSAGE CLASSES FOR YEAR END AWARDS!!!!

To qualify for a Western Dressage Year End Award, you must be a member of ECRDA when you entered the classes. You must have shown in three different shows under three different judges. Western Dressage Class scores earned in ECRDA only count for ECRDA year end awards. ECRDA is not affiliated with any other organization for Western Dressage. The rules and regulations for ECRDA will adhere to Western Dressage classes. Licenses and certified dressage judges must be used.

IMPORTANT NOTICES


As of April 1, 2013, protective headgear is now required by all riders at all levels,
whether warming up or in the show ring.


USEF has modified the rules for attire for Level 1 USDF/USEF competitions,
allowing for colored shirts and breeches and making jackets optional.
ECRDA has approved these changes for schooling shows. Read more here.
