Oakhaven Farm is a family-owned and operated boarding & training facility in the heart of Southwest Austin.
Oakhaven Beginnings
Debbie and Willy Graves started Oakhaven in 1998, with the acquisition of their beautiful Hays County property. Debbie had a passion for Warmbloods and the hunter-jumper sport. She and her daughters had started showing the 90’s, travelling widely, competing successfully and acquiring more and better horses. The Graves decided to start their own barn to pursue this passion.
Breeding Program
Debbie began her breeding program as soon as there were a few pastures and sheds put up. Over the years the barns grew, the horses grew, and ultimately she bred 36 horses here. Many of them are featured on this web site.
Debbie started with the highest quality mares with proven athletic ability and wonderful temperaments, and she matched them to the best international and national stallions. Many of them have done well in the show ring and some have become valued brood mares.
Boarding and Training
Over time our barn became more of a boarding and training facility, which is what we specialize in now. The training program is focused on hunter-jumper skills. Janet and Clare Christie have spent their lives in the Texas Hunter-Jumper world and are deeply experienced in this discipline. There is a lesson requirement, but the Christies do not have an active show schedule or show requirement.
Excellent Horse Care
When we were breeding horse, we believed in keeping them in the top level of fitness and health. Our experience with that guides our boarding service today. Our farm staff has over 50 years of combined experience with us. Their expertise and our facilities provide an excellent environment of care for the horses.
