Hall Of Fame Inductions Set For May 31 At Remington Park

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK–MAY 13, 2024–Remington Park will feature three new inductees to its Oklahoma Horse Racing Hall of Fame on Friday, May 31. The new members will be honored during the races that evening.

Painted Turnpike, Debbie Schauf and Willow Ridge Farms make up the group to be inducted this season.

Painted Turnpike
One of the all-time greatest Paint racehorses, Painted Turnpike is the only horse to receive Hall of Fame status this spring. The all-time leader in wins for an American Quarter Horse, Paint or Appaloosa at Remington Park with 13, Painted Turnpike compiled a 14-race winning streak that started in 2016 and came to an end in 2018, while racing at Remington Park, Fair Meadows Tulsa and Will Rogers Downs .. Cedar Hill Is Top Of Kindergarten Class After Upset Win At 13-1 Odds

LOS ALAMITOS, CA–MAY 12, 2024–Eddie Willis' first attempt to win the Rober Adair Kindergarten Futurity was a huge success, as the 2020 AQHA champion trainer saddled the Capo De Capi gelding Cedar Hill to an upset victory at 13-1 odds for owners Abelardo Flores and James Sills in the Grade 2, $256,200 final on Sunday at Los Alamitos.

Willis has made Los Alamitos a key part of his schedule in recent years, often arriving at the Orange County oval after the end of the Ruidoso Downs meet on Labor Day. Once here, Willis set his sights on the late season major stakes races like the Los Alamitos Two Million Futurity, Golden State Million Futurity and Los Alamitos Super Derby.

From 2009 to 2023, Willis had 254 starters at the Southern California track, but it wasn't until last year that Willis started a horse here prior to the month of September. Even then, Willis had only six starters in the months of January through .. Read More

Third Straight Stakes Victory On Friday For Juan Diaz and Victor Urieta With Blue Eyed Jane

HOUSTON, TX–MAY 10, 2024– Trainer Juan Diaz, Jr. and jockey Victor Urieta, Jr. teamed up for their third consecutive stakes victory on Friday night's program at Sam Houston Race Park with Blue Eyed Jane.

Blue Eyed Jane, who hadn't yet broken her maiden, qualified with the ninth fastest time in the trials. But the two-year-old filly showed up in the $102,382 John Deere Juvenile Challenge [G3] finals for an impressive 2 3/4-length victory.
